Construction or industrial waste on the street

Construction or industrial waste on roads is a nuisance and needs to be cleared up.

In some cases construction or industrial waste on roads can be hazardous and cause traffic accidents. Where this has happened details should be passed to us or the Highway Authority so that it can be cleared up. If appropriate an investigation into its cause will be made.

It's important to give an exact location, the type of material involved and a rough guide as to the amount. This is not always easy, use simple measures that you're familiar with.

If you see the person or vehicle, responsible for the waste please try to give a description or registration number.

Please note that we do not have a duty to sweep or clear up waste on private roads or other areas, such as office car parks or garage sites.

If you see a waste that could cause a hazard, or if you have been involved in a commercial spillage, please report it immediately.
