The purpose of the Annual Governance Statement (AGS) is to explain how the council has endeavoured to deliver good governance through the arrangements in place during the period covered and how the council has reviewed the effectiveness of these arrangements. It also meets the requirements of Regulation 6 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 to undertake a review of the effectiveness of internal control and publish an AGS.
