Amber heat health alert 8-12 July

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for all regions in England, from 9am on Wednesday 8 July until 9pm on Sunday 12 July. Rising temperatures may increase health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups. For advice on staying cool, signs of heat exhaustion, swimming safely outdoors, fire safety, and more: Summer wellbeing

The Group brings together service users and Council officers to discuss and to enable issues of accessibility to be fed into service provision. The Group considers issues relating to accessibility and how we can improve our service provision. This covers a wide remit of areas relating to over a hundred service areas in public realm. It also relates to issues of communication for example in providing information on road works, in identifying areas where road improvements can take place and by improving the provision of accessibility issues such as tactile paving.
An important element of the Group is also in helping the Directorate communicate with people with disabilities in terms of the correct information in the proper formats to enable easy access for people with disabilities for example the Text Aloud software.
