Where we hold records that relate to Planning and Building Control Applications

Dudley Council holds records relating to planning applications dating back to 1948, and building control records relating to 1974.

Planning and building control records

Records of planning and building control applications from 1991 to the present day can be accessed using our online planning and building control pages. This is done by entering the application reference number or site location. Planning and building control records have a retention period of 15 years from decision date, after this time only basic information relating to application is retained. These documents are available to view and print at home with no charge.

For current applications you can also access Weekly Planning Lists on the website.

We may also hold historic records relating to planning applications dating back to 1948, and building control records relating to 1974. In most cases the information available is poor quality and our records are not comprehensive.  If we hold this information, it will be available online using our online planning and building control pages. This is done by entering the application reference number or site location. These documents are available to view and print at home with no charge.
