Protected trees, high hedge complaints and TPO applications

If you currently have a planning application involving protected trees, a High Hedge complaint, or TPO application, please expect a delay with any consultation or decision. We are currently diverting all our resources into dealing with the affected trees in the Norton / Stourbridge area following wildfires. We would appreciate your patience given the unprecedented demand and will respond to matters in due course.

View the briefings and ongoing updates here.

Alongside the scoping consultation the council is undertaking a Call For sites. This invites landowners, developers and other interested parties to submit land for a range of uses including, housing, employment, Gypsy and Travellers sites, retail and Local Green Space.

The Call for Sites allows us to understand what land is available for different types of uses. Please note that this is a land availability exercise, and it does not necessarily mean that sites which are submitted are suitable for development.

Please note that sites submitted through previous Call for Sites (during the Black Country Plan and Dudley Local Plan) will not be carried forward and must be resubmitted for consideration as part of this process.

The Call for Sites will be open from 16 July 2026 until 5pm 30 September 2026.

Submitting a Site

Sites can be submitted via the council’s online portal.

Please note a site threshold for residential has been set at over 0.25 ha, any sites submitted below these thresholds will be rejected and not included in the process.

If you wish to submit a site, please provide as much information as possible to support the site assessment process to understand the sites suitability.
