Glass Quarter Historic Landscape Characterisation

Dudley Council is producing a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for the area known as the 'Glass Quarter'. The key aim of this guidance is to provide a framework to guide development and investment in the Glass Quarter whilst recognising and retaining its unique heritage. The initial SPD is expected to be approved for sending out to formal consultation at the Cabinet meeting of 9th September 2009.
The Glass Quarter Historic Landscape Characterisation (HLC) was produced as part of the process for formulating the SPD, and identifies constraints and opportunities for future development in the area. The designation of listed buildings, locally listed buildings, conservation areas and archaeological priority areas provides certainty for the development process.
