Amber heat health alert 8-12 July

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for all regions in England, from 9am on Wednesday 8 July until 9pm on Sunday 12 July. Rising temperatures may increase health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups. Extra Care housing is a type of purpose-built housing scheme to enable people over 55 who want to continue to live independently but with the added benefit of care and support, as and when it is needed.

Extra Care schemes offer an exceptional range of facilities which encourage people to live life to the full and embrace new opportunities regardless of their age or ability.

The schemes offer independent self-contained apartments, to rent or buy, in a safe and homely community setting. Residents are part of an active, friendly community whilst having the assurance that care and support is available when required, 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
