Amber heat health alert 8-12 July

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for all regions in England, from 9am on Wednesday 8 July until 9pm on Sunday 12 July. Rising temperatures may increase health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups. For advice on staying cool, signs of heat exhaustion, swimming safely outdoors, fire safety, and more: Summer wellbeing

The Winter Warmth package from the Dudley Energy Advice Line offers information, advice and practical support to help households keep affordably warm at home.

Keeping our homes warm is vital. Cold weather can make some health conditions worse, especially if you are vulnerable, over 65, or have a long term health condition. There is a clear link between a cold home and poor health, so it's important to keep warm and well.

Help includes:

  • help with fuel debt
  • energy efficiency advice and help
  • help with understanding energy tariffs and switching
  • help applying for grants for insulation and new heating systems
  • crisis support - temporary heating, fuel and food vouchers, heated blankets
