Amber heat health alert 8-12 July

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for all regions in England, from 9am on Wednesday 8 July until 9pm on Sunday 12 July. Rising temperatures may increase health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups. The videos below are designed for parents and carers, showing what to do if a baby or child is unresponsive and not breathing. Produced in partnership with Dudley Community First Responders (CFRs) they show step-by-step how to give lifesaving CPR.

The baby video demonstrates the new two-thumb encircling technique recommended in January 2026 by the Resuscitation Council UK when performing chest compressions on an infant (under 1 year).

Dudley CFRs are volunteers for West Midlands Ambulance Service who are sent to 999 calls in our local community and provide lifesaving treatment until an ambulance arrives. To find out more information visit Dudley Community First Responders.
