Gritting

Our crews have been out continuously overnight spreading around 510 tonnes of grit on the roads. Roads are passable but please drive carefully.

Take care if you're out and about and allow more time for your journeys.

Recycling and waste collections

We're sorry but for the safety of residents and crews, there will be no waste and recycling collections today.

Residents are advised to leave their bins and recycling at the kerbside and we will collect as soon as it is safe to do so. Further updates about collections will be provided in due course.

We would like to apologise to residents whose and bins and recycling has not been collected due to the recent snow and icy conditions which has made some roads unsafe to access.

Crews have been out every scheduled collection day, and we’ve successfully collected arounds 91% of bins during the recent period of bad weather.

We’re aware that there are still collections outstanding. Our crews are working hard to catch up as quickly as possible. If you have a missed bin collection, we will collect up to three additional sacks of rubbish. Please leave missed waste at the kerbside and we will get to you as soon as we can.

If your green waste or recycling collection has been affected, please leave your bags and box at the kerbside and we will get to it as quickly as possible.

Scheduled collections will continue as normal this week subject to weather and road conditions.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
